I have been sewing
Dresden Plates
Bunting Banners
Pin Cushions
I have been organizing
a big drawer of scraps
becomes bags of squares that I use all the time.
I have been reading
A trip to the library, and a re-read of a favorite. The Shell Seekers. I think I have read this book every year for the past 10 years. Do you re-read favorites? Or am I just weird? :)
And something not so ordinary
A rainbow. I live in the city so there are lots of rooftops and overhead wires. But isn't the church lovely? It is illuminated at night and is breathtaking. And the bells are a constant reminder of ordinary and extraordinary days. Mass, school, noon, weddings and funerals. The bells have their own ring for each event and I never tire of hearing them.
I like ordinary.

I wanted to give a shout out for Kathy's giveaway over at Kathy's Cottage. She has a pair of weekend tickets to The Country Living Fair in Columbus, Ohio. I have already entered and you should too if you are within driving distance.
These are photos of my visit a few years ago, and it is worth the trip!!
Debbie, your creations make my heart sing! Oh my, those photos of the country living fair make me want to quit my ding dang job so I can go! *Sigh* next year for sure. Everyone come on over and throw your name in the hat for those weekend passes. Someone can tell me all about what I missed!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I hope to get back into sewing today. I have been missing it, but I had other things keeping my busy! A trip to the Country Living Fair would be so fun!!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, like the colours very much. I must go looking for some fabric. And a beautiful photo of the church. groetjes, Gerda
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty fabrics!
ReplyDeleteYes, I do re-read. A Thousand Splendid Suns is one I have read a few times. Best story ever!
I don't normally re-read books as I have trouble getting through my reading list as it is but I love Rosamunde Pilcher novels and can understand why you like to re-read Shell Seekers. Love the pincushion. It is very sweet and the colours are delightful.

I also love Rosamunde Pilcher and reread all of her books every so often. My favorite is Voices of Summer.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are so pretty! I just love your pincushion.
I would love to go to the Country Living fair, but we are taking a break from spending. But I will keep it in mind for a future year. :)

Very pretty picture of the rainbow. I've been embroidering some baby items ad sewing too for my upcoming Fall show. I love the Country Livng Fair...it is only an hour away from where I live. It's a great show.

An ordinary week Debbie with lots and lots of bits of colour...beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWish I could go to that Country Living fair it looks great! Bit too far away for me LOL!
but other than crafting there is nothing better than sitting down to a good good book.
happy reading
Amanda :-)
Your ordinary life looks pretty much perfect to me. I too like to reread books, there are some that I go back to year after year. After all we all watch favourite filmms again and listen to music more than once, so why not books? My pretty pincushion arrived today, thank you for it's loveliness, so pretty and summery.
ReplyDeleteOh the Shell Seekers. I loved that book and all the others. I haven't read it in years. I should dig them all out and give them a go!
ReplyDeleteLooks like your ordinary week has been a good one. I have done some reorganizing of my supplies as well, some finishing up and starting anew. And...am also revisiting an old literature love of mine... Gone With The Wind. Though I have seen the movie countless times and read the book for the first time at the tender age of 13, I have never listened to it on audio book...until now. I am thouroughly enyoying my morning housework routine and afternoon knitting to the antics of Scarlett and Rhett these days! And by the way~ I LOVE The Shell Seekers too :)
ReplyDeleteDoesn't look ordinary to me. You sure get a lot done. Just love all the bright colors you use. Your post is rightly named with "Happy" in the title. I haven't read the Shell Seekers. Just wrote it down to check it out on my Kindle. I don't usually read a book more than once unless I have forgotten I have read it and sometimes that happens and I get to the end and KNOW I have read it before...just my age showing here.
ReplyDeleteI know I would love the Country Living fair, just too darn far away. Your pictures gave me a good idea of what I'm missing.
