I have been on a knitting marathon lately. This shawl is called Citron, and has been on my knitting needles since April. I picked up the needles a few weeks ago and haven't been able to stop.
I love all the feminine details in this pattern. The ruching and the ruffled edge. The ruffled edge is not for the faint hearted knitter. It leaves you with 550 stitches to bind off. Worth every stitch though. I knitted this in Classic Elite Alpaca in fingering weight. It is soft and floaty and very cozy.
This is the Multnomah shawl that I showed you the other day. I finished this the other day and then blocked it. I have never really blocked any of my knitting before, and after knitting and blocking both of these shawls, I am a blocking convert. I love how this turned out. The feather and fan is so pretty, and I love how this pattern shows off the colors of the yarn. I love this pattern so much that I have started another.
Now that I have the knitting mojo I want to keep on going before it wears off!
Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThat shawl is truly lovely. Very, very nice.
And that quote by Melodie Beatty is one of my very favorites.
WOW ~ those are gorgeous! I sooo wish I could sew n knit, but sadly I haven't much patience .... yet. God is working on me and maybe some day soon? Thanks so much for your visit and kind words!

Thank you for stopping by and helping with the color decision on the quilts. I will keep the idea of folding the other side down to see both colors. I'll try it while I still have the quilts on the two different sides to see if it looks good. I have just learned to knit in the last 6 months. I have just been practicing of dishcloths so far. I bought some yarn to make a friend a shawl for a birthday present recently and thought I would knit it. I have crocheted since I was a teenager so it comes so much easier for me so I am torn on which pattern I want to use.
ReplyDeleteBoth shawls are lovely, I especially like the citron one. I tried to find a shawl pattern I really liked then decided to do a cowl instead. Super excited to cast on for it.
