What's New?

Hello! It seem ages since I've been here. Instagram is a very bad thing as it's so easy to share pretty photos there. But I do miss being here with those of you who aren't on Instagram, or those who like reading a bit more about the behind the scenes of the the photos.

Since we last chatted, sewing mojo up and left the building. But that doesn't mean there wasn't anything crafty happening. I picked up the knitting needles and had a wonderful times with lots of lovely yarn. Sock knitting is so addictive and the perfect winter night activity. Knitting has also led to the discovery of knitting podcast!!! Oh my!! So much inspiration! My favorites are the lovely ladies in the UK who really make the most beautiful things. You can find the podcasts on You Tube. Be sure to check out the lovely Jooles from Sew Sweet Violet.

Now that Spring has arrived, and along with it, more wonderful light, the urge to sew is starting to come back.

I am slowly but surely stitching together the amazing Dwell blocks I received during a swap I participated in last summer. So many talented quilters participated in the swap and I am thrilled to have samples of their incredible work.

I have also been stitching up project bags for my knitting. They are so much fun to make and I have to admit to matching my bags to my current project.  Bonnie and Camille fabrics remain my absolute favorite. This bag is from a kit by Sew Lux fabrics as part of their year long Pouch Club.

This boxy pouch is my latest project. I used a tutorial by Kelbysews that was so easy. You should check it out if you are inspired to make one. The fabric is Sew and Sew by Moda. Isn't it so summery??

It's hard to believe that Memorial Day is just a few weeks away and the unofficial start of Summer will be here. I'm looking forward to lots of time at the pool, wearing flip flops and drinking iced tea. I've discovered a new favorite. I brew up a cup of peach tea. Bigelow or Celestial are both yummy. Then I add a tablespoon of Torani Vanilla Syrup. Yum! Delicious either hot or iced.

Let me know what you've been up to! Be back soon! xoxo

  3. Everything is so yummerly! Love the fabrics.. makes me want to sew some more. My sewing mojo is gone for the moment but seeing these projects is very inspiring! I love the cathedral window bag also.... that is one of my all time (old) favorites. I used to make cathedral window pillows and sell them.. way back in the 70's. And your boxy bag is just darling.. I've made some little ones but I like the bigger one. I also do not have instagram. Don't know if you need a smart phone to use it.. I think you do.. and since my phone is not smart at all, I don't use IG. I'd rather "hear" someone talk (write) about their projects anyone and learn how to do it or see the link to where they got the instructions. I'm new to your blog and I'm very inspired by it! Thank you so much! Marilyn from Oregon
