Are you ready for the ultimate Weekend Inspiration? I posted on Instagram that I would love to make the Weekender Bag by Amy Butler and so many of you asked if you could sew along!! YAY!!
Chrissy at Sew Lux Fabrics jumped on board and I am so excited because:
1. She is awesome.
2. She has made this bag before and can guide us through the tricky parts.
AND
3. She has the pattern and everything we need in her shop.
Not to mention there may be prizes at the end.
If you want to sew along, order the pattern here and start thinking about what fabrics you want to use. You can also order all the supplies you will need here. Chrissy is offering an amazing deal to everyone who is sewing along. Use the coupon code WEEKENDER to save 15% on your supplies. The code is valid through May 20, 2016.
Inspiration abounds on Instagram and Pinterest. Search "weekender bag" and prepare to be amazed at the bags that so many talented ladies have made!! The sew along will start Monday, June 6th, so don't actually start sewing yet!
Leave a comment below if you are joining in on the fun, and let me know if you have any questions. I will still be posting Weekend Inspiration on Fridays, but consider this our summer project!!
I'll be joining too! Needed some motivation to try this bag!

ReplyDeleteHurray!!! Yes! Count me in! I just purchased the pattern last week. I've been wanting to make one of these bags for forever! I can't believe my good fortune that you all are hosting a sew along. This is so awesome!!
ReplyDeleteYES!!! Joining in! I'm so excited. I purchased my pattern and will start the fabric hunt soon! Thank you - so fun! (@redfeedsack on IG)
ReplyDeleteLike so many of the others I have wanted to do this. I need another travel bag, well I don't travel but I might especially if I have this bag! So I will try to keep up and will look at Chrissy's shop. I have ordered from her before and was very happy with my purchase (Red Riding Hood bag). May send questions as I like the idea of a quilt block on it but am not sure how to do it especially if the block I choose doesn't fit! Best wishes, God bless and stay safe! Karen
ReplyDeleteChrissy has made this bag before with quilt blocks and I know she will help us :)
DeleteI have one started as well... This will motivate me to finish it! Your work is beautiful

ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful! I have the pattern & fabric but need hardware. My daughter is having surgery so if I am Home I am in!
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to know all the stuff like what kind of interfacing, zippers, any unusual thing recommended to complete the bag!
ReplyDeleteIt should all be listed in the pattern. If you check the links above, Chrissy has a whole section in her shop dedicated to the Weekender Bag! :)
DeleteHooray! I've been wanting to make this bag, but knew I might need a little guidance here and there. This is perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteJust ordered pattern. When will it be starting. So excited.
ReplyDeleteJune 6th!! It will be here before we know it!! :)
DeleteCan someone post the yardage required or just a photo of the back of the pattern so we know what and how much to order? Thanks so much

ReplyDeleteI'm in - I have the pattern - I've got the rest of May to find out where I put it...
ReplyDeleteFind that pattern lady!! :)
DeleteIm joining in! Just ordered my pattern!! This will be so much fun!
ReplyDeleteYAY!! This will be so fun!
DeleteI've always wanted to make one of these bags but I'm very intimidated!! I love all the bags I see on IG and on blogs, so this might just be my time to start one!!! Do you find it best to use quilting cotton or decor weight? I have some decor weight that I'd like to use, but I don't want it too hard to work with. Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteThis will be my first bag, and I am planning on using quilting cotton as I am going to patchwork the entire bag. If you are planning on using a single fabric for the entire bag, I think decor weight should work :)
DeleteI'd love to sew along! I've just got the pattern and I need to choose fabric
ReplyDeleteI'm in!! The Weekender has been on the list for awhile now. Perfect time to join in on the fun!
ReplyDeleteI'll be joining in. This will be my third bag. I love them!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait...Is it going to be a week to week sew along? Going on vaca in the middle of July and this would be great to take..
ReplyDeleteI need to join in. Better sign up for blog updates.
ReplyDeleteThis is one project I haven't gotten to and started a LONG time ago!
ReplyDeleteI think I've finally talked myself into it, and I got the pattern & some supplies from Chrissy! I've scoured Pinterest, reviewed blogs, and compiled a list of tips & tricks that I'm going to try, so I'm as ready as I'll ever be! I also LOVE Thimble Blossoms, and have wanted to do a Swoon block, so I'm going to take this opportunity to try that pattern out too! I'm excited (and scared), but at least I won't be alone!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm in too. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI am joining in!!!
