Wow did this weekend go by in a flash! I spent most of it in my sewing room with the TV tuned to BBC America so I could watch and listen to the Diamond Jubilee while I was sewing. I love all things British and am so fascinated by the whole idea of royalty.
And it is kind of appropriate that I was listening to BBC because I was working on a pin cushion for a swap and my swap partner just happens to live in England. I am pretty sure that she doesn't read my blog so I am going to show you what is on it's way to her.
This is the first time I have worked with Kokka fabric and it is so lovely. I love this print and thought it was perfect for her pincushion because she is a seamstress!! She also knits and crochets, so I also made a cute little project bag with the same fabric. I hope she likes them.
I am also starting a journal inspired by Melody Ross of Brave Girls Club. Have you visited their website? It is truly inspiring, and I would encourage you to sign up for their daily emails called A Little Birdie Told Me. I have been looking at these smash journals for months, but didn't know what I would use it for. And I wish I could find fabric that matches this paper. Too cute!!
And if any of you are on facebook, I would love for you to follow my new Happy Little Cottage page! There is a link over in my sidebar that will take you there!
Your pin cushions are soo cute. I love the dark blue center. :0) Your partner will just adore them.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing about Brave Girls. I am heading over to see. That journal is too cute.

ReplyDeleteYou are too sweet Michelle!! My sewing area is a work in progress, and as I use it daily for my etsy sewing, it is almost always really messy!! You've inspired me to make it cuter so I can show you what it looks like :)
