Pin Cushions
Remember when I told you about the pin cushion swap that I was a part of? Well yesterday I had "royal" mail waiting for me. I would love to receive a package from England every day, because their stamp reads "royal" mail. It makes me feel like a princess :)
Anyway, sweet Virginia, who lives in Bath, England made me the cutest pincushion AND the coolest pin on the planet. I adore tartan plaid, and think this will look so cute on a cardigan when the weather cools off. Thank you Virginia!!
Have you seen the tutorial Trish over at Notes of Sincerity shared for granny squares? Granny squares of the quilting variety? I absolutely love them, and couldn't wait to give it a try. I ended up making, what else, a pincushion. I totally copied Clara's over at Clover and Violet :) I had a little trouble keeping the points when I sewed the backing on, but all in all I think it's pretty darn cute. Thanks Trish for the awesome tutorial. I am definitely making more of these!

Your little pincushion is so cute, love the colors you chose! I think I will be making more of those!
ReplyDeleteWow, royal mail and such cute pin cushions! Bath - that reminds me of Jane Austen. I will definitely make some of those fabric grannie squares, since I also love to crochet them, too. Thanks for the link to the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty goods from the England. And I LOVE your little granny cushion. So cute!
ReplyDeleteSo so adorable! And that tartan pin is too much! I'm not on the hunt for my own, or maybe I'll have to make my own :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice surprise!! Your pin cushion is so sweet, great job
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, Happy you like your award. Please don't feel you need to respond to it, I know there are a lot of awards and things out there. If you did want to, all you have to do is copy my post, paste it on your new post, answer the questions and delete my answers. NO PRESSURE just was thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, xoRobin❤
We are off to MV
Lovely gifts. Thank you for pointing me in the direction of the tutorial, heading over there now to have a look.
ReplyDeleteDead cute and with perfection as always. You are The Pin Cushion Lady!
ReplyDeleteAnd no, Nelly won't let me have the bag at all. She had it in school today with her picnic for sports day in it. The girls in her class wondered where she bought it. They all wanted to buy one for themselves. When she told them she had made it with me they were blown away... Maybe an idea for my shop... Making crochet bags.
Thanks for popping by!

What a beautiful brooch
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet idea, I love that swapy sort of thing you see on the web, bringing strangers from around the world together into a little community - I just took a peek at the package you put together, I'm sure she's gonna love it x
ReplyDeleteI was part of the same pincushion swap that you were, it's a lovely way to make a little present for someone and receive one for yourself. It's exciting opening that little parcel to see what's been made for you.
