The Happy Tree

I am one of those people who's least favorite day of the year is December 26th. I hate the thought of Christmas being over, and I REALLY hate taking down the Christmas tree. After the sparkling lights and cheerful colors of my decorations, my house always feels empty and dark. So this year, Becky and I decided to put up a small tree by the fireplace and decorate it for Valentine's Day, but to me it is just a Happy Tree.
The ribbon and most of the decorations are from our Christmas tree. But check out that cute owl! He is from a kit that we bought for $1.00 at Pat Catan's. I totally love how the tree brightens the living room, and it is small enough that it isn't in the way. I think this adorable tree will keep us happy through January and February, and then who knows. Maybe an Easter tree????

  1. Oh, I love the seasonal trees! I have my Valentine one up. It's a wire tree (primitive) with crocheted hearts, bells and bows!

  2. What a good idea! it looks lovely.
I bought a bok of small bright wooden eggs years ago from IKEA and try to put up an easter tree each year.

  3. get out of town! this is so freakin' cute!

    love the little owl. sweet.

  4. Hi Debbie, I gave you an Award! Check it out at my nest! Congratulations xo Robin

  5. we are SO on the same page! I love Christmas and when everything comes down, it's just so blah. I had a friend years ago who left her kitchen tree up year round, changing out the seasons and it was a lovely thing. She would use her kids artwork, old pictures, baby things, the kids toys...like a life collage! Can't wait to read more on your blog!

  6. I still find myself heading into the front room to plug in the Christmas tree every morning! I guess I wasn't ready for it to be over either. Your Happy Tree is beautiful!

  7. Very delightful-what a wonderful idea!
    Peace, Angela

  8. I love these!! They are so cute! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Those little canvases are so easy to make. You should take her SHE WORKSHOP! I'm in and can't wait!!
    Have a good night!
