Because you are seeing this post, it means I finally have power after 2 days of no heat and lots of candles. In between the sound of my sewing machine humming to catch up on orders, I am hearing the constant whine of chainsaws, as they chop up the huge trees that fell in my neighborhood during the storm. Luckily, there was little to no property damage, and no one was hurt.
It is hard to believe that a hurricane could actually reach Cleveland, Ohio. It was a frightening evening as the wind picked up speed and power went out. The howling of the wind is something I will never forget. My heart goes out to everyone who is suffering in New Jersey and New York. If you can, please consider making a donation to the Red Cross. I have witnessed them in action, and they truly are a blessing to people in need.
On a lighter note, here is a custom order I am working on. One of these pincushions is cute....a whole big pile of them is adorable!!! I've been having fun using scraps of different fabric lines that I don't normally use in my shop.
Not much to report on the Schnibble front. I really missed my sewing machine for the two days I was without power.
We will be celebrating Halloween on Saturday as it was postponed due to the storm. I hope our jack-o-lanterns last a few more days!!
Sew glad to hear you are alright. We too have experienced an inland hurricane, scary stuff!!! Your pin cushions are so darn sweet
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Good to hear that you're safe and sound - what an awful storm it has been. Loving your little pincushions - so lovely, bright and cheery.

Glad to hear you getting back to normal, what a scarey time for so many people.
ReplyDeleteLove the pincushions, a real collection of color so lovely

So glad to hear your power is back on and you are safe and well. What a scary time it must have been for you. We are use to having a real good storm roll through down here in the south. Even a cat 1 I am finding is more of a nuisance, but for the folks up north where you are ... it must have been terrifying. My heart aches for the folks on the east coast.
ReplyDeleteYour pin cushions are super cute Debbie! What fun to have them all nestled together like that!
I usually think of a hurricane being a coastal thing. But in Ohio? That's scary.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back to sewing!!!!
Oh no!! I'm down in Cuyahoga Falls and ours flickered a few times but never went out. So glad you have it back!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, so happy you are alright! Yes, it was a scary and long hurricane. We were fortunate here in Vermont this time. My mom in Pennsylvania lost here electricity. But N.J. and N.Y. got slammed! Loved your cluster of pincushions!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween BoO, xoRobin❤
So happy to hear you are doing good!! Such sweet pincushions!! Wishing you a lovely day, and happy sewing! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteThat pile o' pincushions is adorable:)
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear that you are safe and well...have a happy halloween on Saturday!
I guess if the storm had to come all the way to Ohio it picked the right week as Sarah and I were stranded at Quilt Market in Houston. We sure had a lot of fun! There are so many downed trees as we finally made our way from the airport yesterday. We must be thankful though as the reports keep coming in of lost lives. So very sad.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are OK Debbie. Sandy dropped snow and wind on us, but not the wind you experienced. The wind is a powerful thing. Your pin cushions are so cute. Happy belated Halloween!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are ok, Debbie! I love your jack o' lanterns and hope you enjoy your belated Halloween! And those pin cushions....how gorgeous they look all piled up together. I am loving the one I have from you...am now thinking I should have ordered lots more!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend...hope it is nicely spooky!

ReplyDeleteSo glad you are alright, scary. Just goes to show, how small we humans really are, when up against the elements. As always your sewing projects are beautiful! l am going to sew the dress l have on the cutting table, this weekend. Pam :)
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that you and your family are safe. Such a devastating storm and we are all praying for those affected. Your pincushions are adorable and so cheerful together. Happy Belated Halloween! xx
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you are safe and back to work on such darling projects. Seriously....the pincushions are so stinky adorable. Happy Sewing.
ReplyDeleteblessings to you.
Yes, I heard that your side of the state was suffering some damage from Sandy. On our side we got cool, windy, miserable rainy days, about 3 of them, and as I drove those days on the Ohio Turnpike towards Toledo the rain stopped and it was dry around there. So glad that you were not injured but sorry to hear about the car. Your little pin cushions are adorable and I have been admiring them for some time. Love that quilt book you mentioned in a previous post. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDelete(((HUGS))) Susanne :)
Great to hear Debbie that you and your family are OK. I've been following the news about Sandy and the images are devastating ,down right scary. My heart goes out to the people who have lost family and even their homes, especially there in New York. I was seeing only this morning that in New York people have to queue to get petrol and some homes still do not have power. Awful!
ReplyDeleteLove those little pin cushions
keep well
Amanda :-)
So glad that you are all well and safe. Love the pincushions.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Debbie! Just wanted to let you know that I spent an hour at JoAnn Fabrics yesterday with a wonderful lady who helped me pick out a cutting mat and fabric to start my quilt. I have talked myself out of going there several times, so yesterday I just walked in and said "I need help" and I am so glad I did, she even drew out how many blocks I would need to cut out to make a 9 patch and was patient with me as I picked out the colors. Thank You for the inspiration to create. Now I need the courage to actually CUT the fabric! :-) Joy
ReplyDeletethankful you were ok during the storm and that your lights were not off too awfully long...our nephew, wife, four year old and a 3 month old were with out for two weeks...glad you are back to sewing!!
ReplyDeleteCould you do me a custom order of one like the top-right one in the pic? I will pay in advance if you need. Thanks,
ReplyDeleteMary
