Hello! It's week 9 of the Pretty Playtime Quilt Along and it's my turn to sew along with you.
Elea Lutz has a sweet new book out called Pretty Playtime Quilts. For 16 weeks, the Fat Quarter Shop is hosting a blog tour featuring a new block each week from the Garden Fairy sampler quilt from the book, featuring her latest fabric collection, Strawberry Biscuit.
The book contains 15 different block patterns for the Sampler quilt and there is also six additional projects made from the fun variety of block patterns. I love that it is spiral bound for easy use!!
I have been so inspired by all things summer lately, so I'm excited that this week we are making the super cute strawberries. This a fun block to play with your red and pink fabrics!! I am using a mix of Pam Kitty Morning and Red polka dots for my blocks.
You will be working with lots of triangles for this block, so remember to be gentle with your fabric, and PRESS, don't iron your pieces. This adorable block finishes at 12.5".
There are so many cute, unique blocks in this quilt and would so amazing as a scrappy happy quilt or the Fat Quarter Shop has a Garden Fairy Sampler kit if you would like to make your own using Elea’s Strawberry Biscuit fabric.
Each week the Fat Quarter Shop's blog the Jolly Jabber is featuring one of the blocks from the book made by a different quilter. Here's a list for you to follow along:
Week 2 – Erin from Why Not Sew?
Week 3 – Wynn from Zakka Art
Week 4 – Anorian from Samelia’s Mum
Week 5 – Amy from Diary of a Quilter
