happy go lucky

Happy Go Lucky. The fabric. And my state of mind. This summer for the first time in a very long time has me feeling happy go lucky. Less stressed. Loving my new house. Grateful for air conditioning all this week as the temps have been in the 90's.

 Peace. Quiet. Happy.
Stepping out of my comfort zone, I made a dresden pillow with long blades! This pillow cover is 14" square and makes a cute little accent.

I adore the prints and colors in Happy Go Lucky. Somehow the navy makes all the colors seem more vibrant! I am going to make more dresden pillows for my Mom, who just bought a LIME green couch and the navy and greens from Happy Go Lucky are a perfect match!!! Her pillows will have my usual smaller blades and large circle center. I still love them!!

The pincushion, quilt and pillow are in my shop.

Today we celebrate my sweet son Gavin's birthday!! For the first time in 27 years, the temperature on his birthday will be below 90!! Bring on the cake and ice cream.....

Have a wonderful week!!! xoxo

  4. Your Dresden fan is lovely but the Cathedral Window pin cushion is truly inspiring. That block is on my "to do" list for this year, I am on holiday at the end of August and hope to have tried it by then.

  14. Thank goodness you have air conditioning! It would make sewing so miserable in all that heat and humidity. It's fun to see your makes again, and that fabric is just beautiful, I love the navy, orange and green. Have a great week!!!!!

  19. Hi Debbie, I'm popping over from Mockingbird Hill Cottage. She just gave you a shout-out when she posted a photo of an adorable pin cushion you made. This post and the colors you use in work look very happy go lucky. I'm going to head on over to to your shop to see what you have. I'm clueless. What is a Dresden? Is it a particular pattern? Your mom's lime green couch sounds awesome! I love that color. Well, you tell you the truth, I love many colors.

  22. Hello Debbie, fellow Brave Girl!!

Congratulations on your sweet new cottage! I love all the nesting that's going on there... your living room is so adorable, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw your sewing room. So many fun possibilities!

I've never taken a Brave Girl workshop... but I would LOVE to. They look really good, and seem priced pretty good, in comparison to some others I've seen out there. I really love their daily quotes... you're right... those daily emails seem to come just at the right time.

    Hugs,
    Jill
PS: I'm cheering you on too!! oxo
