Not So Great Granny

So remember last fall when everyone was all abuzz about the great granny square? I jumped on the bandwagon, made a few squares, put them in a drawer and was on to the next thing. Or maybe the holidays came along and sewing time was limited.

I found the squares while I was working on my scrappy trip blocks (still working on them) and decided to sew them together and make a not so great granny table topper. I'm so glad I did because I think it is just right for Valentine's Day.

I really do love these smaller projects.  I want to finish my scrappy quilt, but I keep finding all these cute little projects that distract me..... stay tuned!

  2. Hi, my name is Debbie and I am a homebody too. Even our blog names are very similar...Anyway, I LOVE your table topper. I must find the pattern for those granny squares. Did you hand quilt it? (it looks like you did from the pics) and also, did you wash it or do you plan to wash it for that extra smooshy quilty sweet texture? xx debbie

  3. I love the colors of your granny square topper. I am working on a queen sized granny square quilt using scraps. It took forever to piece it, but now I'm quilting it. It's my favorite part of quilt making:)
