Schnibbles

Do you remember me telling you about the quilt patterns I bought a few weeks ago at the CUTEST quilt shop on the planet?  One of them is called State Fair and it is a Schnibble. I know I am probably way out of the loop in finding out about these adorable little patterns.  I absolutely adore working on smaller projects, and this little pattern is so fun. It is made using 2 charm packs (Marmalade) and each block finishes at 5".

I have been swamped with etsy sewing, and as a reward for finishing an order, I make a Schnibble block.  Schnibbling is my new word for FUN sewing. Not that I don't enjoy sewing orders for my shop, but I love having a project that is new and different.

I found two books full of Schnibble patterns at Joann's and promptly used my 50% off coupons to buy them. I think that starting in January November, I am going to make a new Schnibble each month. They are so perfect for wall hangings and table toppers. And I LOVE the idea of buying new charm packs each month for that month's Schnibble.

Thank you Carrie Nelson for such cute, little projects!!

Happy Days

Hi!! I'm back!! It seems like I've been away from blog land forever, but it has only been a week!! And it was a wonderful week!! Thank you so much for all the happy birthday wishes!! I loved reading all of your sweet comments!

I had a fun dinner at my house with my family and aunt and uncle who were visiting from Rhode Island.

I had a wonderful birthday! I spent the afternoon with Becky, and I finally got to stop at JEllen's House of Fabric, which is my sort of local quilt shop. If any of you live within an hours drive of Lyndhurst, you HAVE to visit this shop. It is Happy Little Cottage personified. Joyce, the owner, is a so sweet and friendly and makes you feel right at home. There is inspiration and eye candy everywhere you look! I cannot wait to go back. We went to lunch. Window shopped at Pottery Barn. Bought cute cupcake sprinkles at Williams Sonoma. Had lasagna and cake and ice cream with the whole family! I am a lucky girl!

I had fun packages to open, handmade cards to read and a cute new bracelet from my parents and charms from my sweet kids who know me too well!

I have also been sewing up a storm for my shop. I bought two new patterns at the quilt shop as projects just for me and I can't wait to get started.

Hope you all have had a great week, and I can't wait to catch up with all of you!

This Week

The craft show was indeed all I hoped it would be.  A crisp fall day. Blue skies. Colorful leaves. A bag of freshly popped kettle corn. The smell of candles ( I bought a pumpkin spice scented one). I also bought homemade lip balm from a bee keeper. It is pink grapefruit flavored, and may well be the best $2.00 I have spent lately.

I am going to be away from the blog for the rest of the week. I have a TON of  etsy orders to finish along with my office job and a much loved aunt and uncle are coming to visit for the week!  There is going to be lots of birthday celebrating (mine and my uncle's) and lots of family time spent catching up, eating goodies and playing tourist. I can't wait to see them!

Hope you all have a great week! Be back soon....

Sugar Creek Revisited

Last fall, Sugar Creek by DS Quilts was my "go-to" fabric. I made quilts and pillows and stocked my brand new shop with what I made.

A year later, a sweet customer from Canada asked if I could make a quilt identical to one that had already sold. I was able to still track down the fabric, and made this toddler bed quilt. I switched out the original stripe pattern to a modern subway tile quilt pattern.

With the little leftover fabric I had, I made this super cute elephant. The pattern is by Retro Mama. Can you tell I LOVE her patterns???

I also made a Happy Little Pincushion. Just because....

Because I feel like doing a little giveaway!  Just leave a comment and tell me what you have been working on. I will pick a name on Friday and send the pincushion to the winner!! COMMENTS ARE NOW CLOSED.

Happy October!!

Edited To Add: Tell me about ANYTHING you are working on: quilting, sewing, cooking, photography, decorating, crocheting.... :)  and the giveaway is open to all my international friends too ♥
