Granny Along Update

This weekend, in between being doing a happy dance about being in a magazine and working on a few etsy orders, I started on my granny blocks.  I really thought that I was going to do the "Great" Granny, but decided that I really wanted to use my Ruby scraps, and thought that the smaller block was just right.  You all know about my love for Ruby, and I realized that I haven't made anything for me with it. Problem solved!!

I am having too much fun putting together color and patterns with these blocks! This really is the perfect project for me right now. Once the squares are cut, they go together pretty quickly. And having a leftover jelly roll makes even the cutting super fast and easy!! I may add a few prints from Vintage Modern to mix things up just a bit.

To make this even more fun, my cute and talented daughter is going to granny along with me, only she is crocheting her squares to mimic mine!!! She will be posting her blocks on her blog as she goes along!! It will be so fun to see her interpretation of my blocks! Plus we will have two super cute blankets to use this fall!!

Oh, and before I forget, check my sidebar for my blog button! I figured out the HTML code all by myself. I was stunned and amazed!! Feel free to grab one to add to your blog! I would love it if you do :)

  8. I love your grannies. The Ruby line is perfect for them, it all goes together so nicely. I made my first two squares on Sunday and it was so much fun sewing again that I almost didn't stop (darn hungry family!). Congratulations on your banner being published. How exciting.
