It is snowing like crazy this morning!!! Big giant puffy flakes aka Charlie Brown snowflakes. The primroses are from the grocery store and are adding lots of color to my not decorated for Christmas anymore house.
I cannot wait to head to the sewing room with a big cup of hot coffee and play with lots of colorful fabrics. I have finished 10 blocks of my scrappy trippy quilt and have 15 more to go. I am working on a custom quilt for a customer and am still trying to decide exactly how to make it.
I finished the Flea Market Fancy Hugs and Kisses quilt and I am so happy with the result. I adore the colors and loved piecing this design.
I did a super scrappy binding on this one, because I only had small pieces of fabric left. I think the longest piece was 12". Pretty cute if I do say so myself. The backing is Posie in blue, which is my favorite print from this collection, and I am buying more to add to my stash.
Some straight line quilting and voila....Hugs and Kisses!!! xoxo
Adorable Debbie, love the way you quilted and bound it!!
ReplyDeleteI love primroses! And your quilt is so bright and cheery!
ReplyDeleteLove your header. Love the quilt and LOVE primroses, too! They're not in the stores here yet. Hopefully soon! Happy sewing! ♥
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always. Love your happy quilts and happy posts about them. You always make me simle as well as want to do even more sewing!! Thanks for the inspiration

ReplyDeleteThat quilt is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh is that ever cute! I love scrappy binding. So playful and fun. And makes me feel so thrifty using up scraps and pieces.

Oh Debbie I love it! I have not cut into my flea market fabric yet, but this pattern really shows it off with the white background. It's going on my List. Very very pretty.

Very cute quilt! I am loving scrappy binding myself. It adds interest and a good way to use up those little leftovers.
ReplyDeleteLove your primroses and the hugs and kisses quilt! At first I thought you had set in seams on that, but now I see how you did it. I love how quilts can look so complicated but actually be fairly easy to do. I just might have to try this one.
ReplyDeleteHappy February! The quilts are lovely, especially the scrappy binding.
ReplyDeleteOh it is lovely! Such pretty fabrics! x
ReplyDeleteOh I love that design, cute an unusual, and what's more I adore all the different fabrics you have used (infact I recognise a few of them from my own sewing box!
ReplyDeleteXx
What a lovely burst of colour - from the quilts and the flowers!
ReplyDeleteHi there, visiting from KO's blog.
ReplyDeleteI just started quilting. Pretty stuff you have here. It looks like you machine sewed the binding so you didn't have to hand sew the back...curious....
XO
Sooo much prettiness! Lovely quilt as always,
ReplyDeletestay warm & happy Sunday,

Funny, It's snowing big Charlie Brown flakes as I sit here reading your post. I have coffee brewing and I am just taking a break from working on my own scrappy trip quilt. We have a lot in common:>) I love the hugs and kisses quilt. The colors and oh my goodness, the scrappy binding. ♥ Love ♥ !

The primulas are gorgeous, we have oodles in the Vinery where I work, the are always such a joyous sight, in fact I posted some pics of them this evening. Your quilt is looking great, I love patchworking, but have never mastered the art of quilting x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt and I love the pattern! Have a great week! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteLove it absolutely gorgeous, really liking the scrappy border too

Love the fancy hugs quilt Debbie. The pattern is really unusual and I'm having a bit of an art deco obsession at the moment and actually this pattern would really go! Also looking forward to watching the scrappy quilt progress, I'm having a bit of withdrawal from my farmer's wife mini-quilt and this could be the answer. xx We had snow today too - but turned to rain by 2.00.
ReplyDeleteI do so love the colours you use, always feel excited to read your posts and find them very inspiring. Your Primroses are lovely...l have killed my sadly...wouldn't have hurt if l had given them some water ;-) Pam
ReplyDeleteThat looks beautiful. The pattern shows the fabrics off so well.
ReplyDeleteThat binding is sewed on with perfection. How do you do that? Mine always looks good on the front but the seam on the back hardly ever lines up in the binding ditch like that. Any advice? It is a darling quilt by the way. Love Flea Market fabric.
