It's So Simple

I have been having fun these past few weeks working on a custom order all made with The Simple Life!

I love these prints. This bunting banner print is near and dear to my heart.
A pinwheel and prairie points quilt. (Tutorial by Jodi Nelson at Pleasant Home.)

A patchwork pillow. This fabric was so much fun to fussy cut.

I also made bunting banners, both large and small. A cathedral window mini pillow. A mini quilt to be used as a counter hot pad. I don't think I will ever tire of aqua and red.

I spent the afternoon getting everything packaged and ready to ship. It is always such a relief to finish a big order, and I have a stack of orders ready to be filled, but I am taking a break tonight so I can watch all the glitz and glamour in Hollywood!

Once Upon A Time

This is a custom order that I just finished for a new little princess who is about to arrive in California. Her "fairy godmother" wanted to give her a special quilt, because she received one as a baby, and has it to this day.  She asked for something soft, so I backed it in flannel which will get so soft when it is washed. I love the floral binding!

Dragons are meaningful to this little one's parents, so I used "Once Upon A Time" and had fun with the cute prints.  The repeat is really large, so I made on big patch in the center featuring the dragon, and surrounded it with smaller blocks.

Wishing the new little princess a charmed life!

Three Things

1. A happy little project. Made from "The Simple Life" and the puppy is from "Fly A Kite". Pattern by Retromama.

2. Susan Branch stuff found at Marshalls. An under $10 splurge. Makes me happy!!

3. Fresh from the oven blueberry muffin. YUM.

Just a few things that are making me happy today. Wishing you some happy today too!!

Not So Great Granny

So remember last fall when everyone was all abuzz about the great granny square? I jumped on the bandwagon, made a few squares, put them in a drawer and was on to the next thing. Or maybe the holidays came along and sewing time was limited.

I found the squares while I was working on my scrappy trip blocks (still working on them) and decided to sew them together and make a not so great granny table topper. I'm so glad I did because I think it is just right for Valentine's Day.

I really do love these smaller projects.  I want to finish my scrappy quilt, but I keep finding all these cute little projects that distract me..... stay tuned!

Hugs and Kisses

It is snowing like crazy this morning!!! Big giant puffy flakes aka Charlie Brown snowflakes. The primroses are from the grocery store and are adding lots of color to my not decorated for Christmas anymore house.

I cannot wait to head to the sewing room with a big cup of hot coffee and play with lots of colorful fabrics. I have finished 10 blocks of my scrappy trippy quilt and have 15 more to go. I am working on a custom quilt for a customer and am still trying to decide exactly how to make it.

I finished the Flea Market Fancy Hugs and Kisses quilt and I am so happy with the result. I adore the colors and loved piecing this design.

I did a super scrappy binding on this one, because I only had small pieces of fabric left. I think the longest piece was 12". Pretty cute if I do say so myself.  The backing is Posie in blue, which is my favorite print from this collection, and I am buying more to add to my stash.

Some straight line quilting and voila....Hugs and Kisses!!!  xoxo
